Ordering a reader

Readers come from Stripe, not from us. Five steps, and the last one is the only one inside Lunelle.

Connect Stripe first

Open Settings, then Payments, and finish the Stripe steps. The hardware shop only opens for a Stripe account that is already set up.

Open the Stripe hardware shop

Tap Order a card reader anywhere in the app. Sign in with the same Stripe account you connected to Lunelle.

Choose the Stripe Reader M2

It is the small handheld reader in the mobile section. Order one for each person who takes payments in the room.

Ship it to your studio

Stripe charges the card on your Stripe account and ships it to the address you give them. Delivery usually takes a few days.

Pair it in Lunelle

Open Settings, then Payments, then Payment devices. Turn the reader on, tap Connect a reader, and pick it from the list.

Do I have to buy a reader?

No. Tap to Pay takes contactless cards with no extra hardware. Buy a reader when a client hands you a card that will not tap.

Does Lunelle sell the readers?

No. You order from Stripe and Stripe ships it to you. Lunelle adds nothing to the price and takes no cut of the hardware.

Do the countertop terminals work?

Not yet. The Stripe Reader S700, the BBPOS WisePOS E and the Verifone terminals all connect over the internet, and Lunelle pairs over Bluetooth today. Buy the M2 instead.

Can I use a reader I already own?

Only if it is a Stripe Reader M2. Readers from Square, Clover, SumUp and PayPal are locked to those apps and cannot be moved to Stripe.

Can two people share one reader?

Yes, but only one phone at a time. The reader has to be disconnected on the first phone before the second can pair with it.

My reader will not appear in the list

Turn the reader on and hold it near the phone, then check that Bluetooth and location are both allowed for Lunelle. If it still hides, email us.
